The 10th anniversary of Budapest Jazz Club’s success and operation is a giant step for the club and the Hungarian jazz scene, owing to the contribution of the club’s owners and colleagues, the performers, organizers, and last, but not least: the audience. Running for a decade now, Budapest Jazz Club is the longest active and currently the oldest jazz club in Budapest.

Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker has for decades been an essential part of the Opera's run-up to Christmas. In memory of Vasili Vainonen and Gusztáv Oláh, we first presented for Christmas of 2015 a newly buffed-up show that follows classical ballet traditions while still conforming to the requirements of 21st century dance and set design.

It’s the Christmas fair at BISB, where visitors could find lots of tempting Christmas goodies. As well as games and raffle prizes there was also the opportunity for photographs with Santa and Olfa.

I first visited Budapest in 1982. I came with some friends on the overnight train from Warsaw, where I was working at the British Embassy. Howling dogs and misty border crossings - it was like living in a John le Carré novel. Budapest was shrouded in freezing fog all weekend but I still fell in love with the city.
