Germany’s flagship carrier Lufthansa has announced that it is launching a direct flight connecting the Bavarian capital Munich with Hungary’s second city of Debrecen from next April. Lufthansa will operate the flight all-year-round, three times a week, the company’s regional director for the Central-East European region said.

Fitch Ratings affirmed Hungary’s “BB plus” sovereign credit rating, one notch under investment grade, with “positive” outlook, in a scheduled review Friday evening. Earlier most analysts expected an upgrade to “BBB minus”, the bottom of investment grade, but Hungary’s Economy Minister Mihály Varga played down the chance for “a major change” in a Friday morning television interview.

The annual Budapest Jewish Film Festival will begin on Thursday. Organised for the fourth time, the festival will present 13 fresh feature length films including two documentaries, most of which will be screened in Hungary for the first time, the organisers said.
