The information it contains is now safely managed by various government agencies, so the booklet has been redundant for some time. Instead, a new online platform will be created where employers can still check data if that is relevant to them.

Victims of "Google Fraud" to Receive Compensation from MBH Bank in Hungary

MBH Bank on Thursday said it will pay compensation equaling 70pc of the damages to customers who fell victim to a Google-fraud-type phishing attack between March 15 and May 31, 2025, even though the problem was not the vulnerability of banking systems, but sensitive personal and banking data obtained from bank clients and fake banking pages advertised in Google search.

The Életmentő app (which literally means “life-saving” in Hungarian) was developed by the Hungarian National Ambulance Service together with Vodafone Hungary. It lets you request help from emergency services directly through your phone, and sends them your real-time location. No need to know the nearest cross street. No need to panic about explaining “we’re just past the bend with the plum tree.”
