The 16th annual Hungarian Jewish Summer Festival is currently being held in Budapest between 25 August and 2 September and offers various programs introducing Jewish culture. The festival is the largest of its kind in Europe and this year the Prime Minister’s Office is sponsoring the event with 58 million forints.

New York-based jazz singer Catherine Russell performed to a full-house at the Kecskemét Bohém Jazz & Ragtime Festival on March 24. Daughter of the late Louis Russell, the long-time musical director for Louis Armstrong, Ms. Russell enchanted the audience with her voice, wit, and personal warmth and earned a standing ovation for a performance of a traditional Hungarian jazz song in Hungarian.
