Gábor Czene of Népszabadság conducted an interview with Tamás Fabiny, bishop of the northern district of the Hungarian Lutheran Church. Fabiny was ordained in Erlangen, Germany in 1982. He also studied in the United States. In addition to his church activities he worked for Duna TV. Since 2010 he has been the vice chairman of the Lutheran World Federation.

Speaking at an award ceremony at which participants in flood defence operations were recognised with the For a Civic Hungary Award, the Prime Minister said it is worth taking a third step in the utility charge cut programme, following the success of the first two.

The Israeli Cultural Institute in Budapest has opened a centre named after Tivadar Herzl, a 19th-century Jewish journalist and writer born in Pest who is considered to have been the father of modern political Zionism. Minister for Human Resources Zoltán Balog told the opening event on Sunday evening that learning is vital for different people and cultures living together.
