Third Round Of Utility Cuts Announced In Hungary
Preparations are being made for another round of public utility price reductions, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said on Friday. Speaking at an award ceremony at which participants in flood defence operations were recognised with the For a Civic Hungary Award, the Prime Minister said it is worth taking a third step in the utility charge cut programme, following the success of the first two.

In his address, he praised the unprecedented cooperation of people in fighting the flood of the decade in early June, which made him believe that Hungarians could again be strong and successful.

Summing up Hungary's achievements in 2013, Viktor Orbán said that the country had managed to avoid bankruptcy, the economy is back on the path of growth, the minimum wage has increased and household utility prices have been reduced by 20 percent. He added that next year families would be granted extra childcare benefits.
