Some 44,700 companies have been deleted from the official register this year, 4% more than last year, website feketelista.hu reports. More companies were de-registered than created in all 19 counties. In Budapest, twice as many, 20,534, companies were removed from the list as were added.

Altogether 16 citizens of Arab countries have bought up property in the small town of Komló, in southern Hungary, the daily Népszabadság reported, adding that no similar purchases were made in previous years. Citing information from the local mayor’s office, the paper said most of the purchases were made by Kuwaiti nationals, while the rest were by people from Egypt, Iran and Syria.

Germany’s flagship carrier Lufthansa has announced that it is launching a direct flight connecting the Bavarian capital Munich with Hungary’s second city of Debrecen from next April. Lufthansa will operate the flight all-year-round, three times a week, the company’s regional director for the Central-East European region said.
