Pavillon de Paris opened its doors in 2010 taking over from the Jardin de Paris located just opposite to the French Institute in the tiny “French quarter” just minutes away from the Chain Bridge. The elegant Parisian style restaurant offers French specialities such as goose liver (foie gras) as a starter, salmon tartare or the sheer duck breast (magret de canard) with honey and lavender sauce.

Fülemüle (Nightingale) Restaurant’s cooking strengths range from special home-made smoked meats, to stuffed goose-neck, along with perfectly cooked Argentine Angus steak for those with an international taste. For dessert, their walnut-crusted Matzah balls with chocolate coating are always good, as are the locally inspired sweet-noodles with apple, walnut, and poppy-seeds.

There are not many things that Budapest and this vibrant city cannot offer. In fact one of the only gripes you can hear from Expats and locals alike is that we miss the sea and being able to get fresh seafood, now all that has changed. Whilst we still live in a land locked country with the arrival of The Big Fish on Andrassy we no longer have to crave the taste of the seas.
