Austrian authorities reintroduced checks and controls on the Hungarian border yesterday, creating lines of traffic four kilometres long on the M1 motorway leading towards Hegyeshalom. The checks will be extended to the southern part of the Burgenland border from next week.

Lawyers acting for the city of Budapest were unable to say on Monday what law Mahir Cityposter had violated as the Capital Court began its trial of the dispute between the two parties over advertising columns on city streets. The basis for the city’s argument was that Mahir had not placed its advertising pillars in a proper manner and that it had violated a city decree from 2006 and 1995.
Budapest Keleti Railway Station Resumes Services, Migrants Not Allowed To Enter

Budapest’s Keleti railway station resumed services after 10am on Tuesday. The station was temporarily closed from 9.09am after police action to stop migrants from entering the railway station. Other passengers were allowed to board an international service bound to Vienna. When the station was closed down after 9am for an unspecified period, all passengers were asked to leave the building.
