One week, 19 concerts, 14 towns, thousands of people. Following its community week in June, the Budapest Festival Orchestra again intends to give free concerts all around the country, taking music to people who rarely get to concert halls or have never been to a classical music concert.

Hungary’s government is preserving the value of pensions and making sure decent jobs are available, the Economy Ministry said late on Tuesday in response to a demonstration outside its main building. The ministry said the pension system is sustainable, reacting to supporters of union alliance MSZSZ, who protested for early retirement and against a wage-freeze for public servants.
