From midnight on Saturday a third degree alert— the highest—will be in place for the following five days, with daily mean temperatures expected to exceed 27 C. in the country. The weather services forecast daily highs of 36, 37 and 38 C. from Monday to Wednesday.

The majority of Hungarians reject illegal migrants regardless of party affiliation, a survey carried out by Nézőpont on commission from weekly Heti Válasz between June 19 and 25 showed. The representative survey was conducted by phoning 1,000 people and 76% of them said that illegal migrants posed a problem for Hungary, Nézőpont said.
