Wizz Air carried over 11 million passengers last year, including 1.3 million to and from Budapest, the low-cost airline announced. The average seat occupancy rate exceeded 85%. Wizz Air also announced the arrival of a new Airbus A320, its sixth aircraft at its Budapest base, making it the largest airline in Hungary.

Ice-breaking ships are on standby at various critical points along the Tisza as the river and its tributaries have frozen over on almost their entire stretch.
