Munich-based real estate fund management group GLL Real Estate Partners has acquired the historic Váci 1 building from Horizon Development, according to a press release sent to the Budapest Business Journal today. The seller was legally advised on the transaction by Lakatos, Köves & Partners, while the buyer was represented in the deal by Dentons.

Hungarian food safety authority Nébih has ordered all poultry in the near vicinity of avian influenza outbreaks in Bugac and Kiskunmajsa, in southeastern Hungary, to be culled. Nébih ordered the cull in a 1km radius around the outbreak sites after discovering the virus in poultry near Kiskunmajsa.

So far Canada, Serbia, the Republic of South Africa, Israel, Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore announced a full or partial ban of Hungarian poultry imports.

Hungary’s economy, adjusted for inflation, is expected to grow by 2.1 % this year, the European Commission said in its autumn economic forecast released on Wednesday. The commission revised its estimate downwards from its spring forecast of 2.5%.

European Union countries are following Hungary’s Paks 2 nuclear upgrade project with interest, said Attila Aszódi, the government commissioner in charge of the project, on the sidelines of an energy conference in Prague on Monday. Most countries operate electricity systems using big fossil-fuelled power stations built in the 1970s-1980s, Aszódi told journalists.
