Train and bus passengers will soon be able to buy e-tickets for combined journeys throughout the country, the chief of the state company in charge of developing the new system said. The National Mobile Payment Company is developing a unified passenger information and electronic ticket system for multimodal public transport all around the country, Mihály Veres, the company’s chief executive, said.

Tens of thousands of cyclists have taken part in the “I Bike Budapest” event on Saturday afternoon, the state news agency MTI has reported. The march began at Bakáts tér in District IX, central Budapest and arrived at Margaret Island some three hours later, where the cyclists traditionally held their bikes to the skies as the procession came to an end.
