As the bright sun shone down, the new and elegant building of the Embassy of Belarus was officially opened in Budapest on 24th April. It was greeted by the Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alena Kupchyna and the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Peter Szijjarto, as well as, ambassadors of the OSCE states and representatives from the Hungarian media.

By Christian Keszthelyi: Budapest’s annual construction fair Construma, which came to a close yesterday, attracted almost 50,000 visitors this year, according to organizer Hungexpo. The fair showcased a record number of 550 exhibitors from 15 countries in a total area of 18,000 sqm at the Hungexpo complex.

Anti-corruption protests took place across Hungary today. In Budapest the demonstration started in front of the Eiffel Palace Office Building near the Nyugati (western) train station. Zsolt László Szabó, head of state media manager MTVA, yesterday reported the weekend assault on M1 newsreader Miklós Borsa to Balatonfüred police. An unidentified man physically attacked Borsa in Balatonfüred on Saturday after confirming that he was the face of M1 news, saying “tell lies now”.
