Kecskemét prosecutors will put on trial in a fast track procedure 15 refugees who were involved in a disturbance at a detention centre in Kiskunhalas on January 15. The incident started when two Iraqis began fighting over access to the internet and armed security guards moved to separate them. One of the men then began to scuffle with arriving police.

The national police noted in a statement on its website that 40-year-old Ahmed H is suspected of terrorism in the form of assaulting operational police officers and crossing Hungary’s border illegally as part of a riot.

A Szeged prosecutor has charged ten people with violating Hungary’s border fence and entering the country illegally amid the September 16 clashes between migrants and police on the Hungarian-Serbian border near Röszke. A Csongrád County prosecutor’s office spokesman said nine Syrian and one Iraqi national have been charged with illegal entry.
