In July, the number of nights spent by international tourists in commercial accommodation rose by 2.6%, while nights spent by domestic tourists were up 0.7% compared to a year earlier. Total gross revenues of accommodation establishments grew by 18% at current prices, according to a first release of July data from the Central Statistical Office (KSH).

Hungarian institutes abroad are featuring over 50 events over the next half year, including exhibitions, concerts and book fair events, a deputy state secretary of the foreign ministry said. The Hungarian Academy in Rome is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year, Judit Hammerstein, who also heads the Balassi Institute that operates the Hungarian institutes abroad, noted.
Castle & Palace Renovation Program To Start This Year

By the end of this year, restoration work on 15 castles and palaces in Hungary will begin, according to the government commissioner in charge of the project. The total budget for renovation of 39 sites amounts to HUF 55 billion, notes a report in daily Világgazdaság, with work expected to be completed in 2019.
