Budapest’s public transport company BKV will grant its employees a wage hike of average 15% under an agreement reached by the management and trade unions on Friday, Budapest Mayor István Tarlós announced. According to the mayor, basic salaries will be increased by 10%, by at least monthly 28,000 forints each.

According to hvg.hu, over 700 drivers have been fined based on public space surveillance camera recordings. However, these cameras are not suitable to be used as a basis for fining drivers, the police declared. Last week, Budapest Mayor István Tarlós told drivers who had been fined based on public space surveillance camera recordings not to pay their fine.

TAP Portugal has announced the re-launch of direct flights between Budapest and the Portuguese capital, Lisbon. The route will operate as of 1 July 2017, every day except Fridays, seven times a week in total, with Airbus A319 type aircraft.

The list of banned psychoactive drugs has been expanded with a 13 new items. Electronic cigarettes were grouped under ordinary cigarette regulations. As a result only licensed tobacco shops, the so-called kiosks, may sell them in the future. The law on air traffic was also modified authorising the police to levy fines for the illegal use of drones.

The drivers blocked traffic in two lanes out of six on Elisabeth Bridge with a demand that Uber be banned and regulations enforced. A network of cameras installed on major roads throughout Hungary recorded nearly 100 traffic violations in its first two hours after it became operational at 8 am this Tuesday. Traffic fines are Ft 50,000 for driving through a red light, Ft 30,000 for illegal overtaking or U-turns, and Ft 300,000 for exceeding the speed limit by Ft 75km per hour.
