The economy ministry responded to a report that the government was beefing up roadside checks with a view to cracking down on ridesharing. Referring to the ride-hailing service Uber’s recent decision to exit the Hungarian market, news portal nol.hu said the government was “now going after ridesharing services”.

A Ft 1.1 billion truck ferry project connecting Esztergom with Sturovo in Slovakia has been complete. The bridge which was rebuilt in 2001 is unable to carry heavy trucks. Both governments are working to realise similar projects in the coming years, economic diplomacy state secretary of the Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry Levente Magyar said at the opening ceremony.
