"In January, the Dutch Embassy became the first embassy in Hungary to go Fair Trade. The embassy just placed their first order of Treehugger Dan's Fair Trade Kafequo coffee (55% arabica/45% robusta). The beans come from Peru and Tanzania, and are mixed and roasted by Caffe Agust in Italy. This move was quickly followed by the Gambian Embassy.

"HMA Greg Dorey opened the first whisky show in Hungary which took place on 24 April in Ramada Plaza Budapest Hotel. The event attracted some 400 visitors who had the opportunity to taste a wide variety of single malt and blended whiskies and attend several seminars. Those who turned up at the show could also vote to the best whisky brand and exhibitor stand.

"Finally a gorgeous weekend in the countryside. We still had to put a fire in the buboskemence the first night, but the sun was shining and we were actually in shorts! The Bodva River flood came up to the fence, and left about 45cm of ground water in the basement, but otherwise the house was thankfully untouched, as were our immediate neighbors.
