Lorine Zineb Noka Talhaoui, known as Loreen, was born in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden, to parents of Moroccan descent. She first gained recognition in the country through Swedish Idol, where she competed under the name Lorén Talhaoui in 2004. She remained in the competition for five weeks and ultimately finished in fourth place.

A year later, in 2005, she released a promotional single titled The Snake. She then shifted her focus, trying her hand as a television presenter and working behind the scenes on various production projects. After a few years away from music, she returned in 2011 under the name Loreen, which she still uses today. A year later, she won the Melodifestivalen competition with her song Euphoria, earning the opportunity to represent Sweden at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in Baku, Azerbaijan. The song won the competition with a total of 372 points from 40 out of 42 participating countries.

Over the years, she frequently returned to the Eurovision stage to perform her latest hits. Then, 11 years later, she announced her participation in the Swedish national selection again with her song Tattoo. Loreen once again emerged victorious, securing her spot in the international competition. In 2023, she won the Eurovision Song Contest for the second time, making her the second artist in history to achieve two victories in the competition.
