Under the Magnifying Glass Series, House of Music Budapest, 24 May
The Under the Magnifying Glass series is aimed at those who like to dig into the depths of works: the usual one-and-a-half-hour interactive lectures examine in detail a lesser-known, great piece from numerous aspects, while the accessible analysis is completed by the collaboration of a young, professional vocal ensemble, the Capella Columbae.

One of Schubert's last large-scale works is a special, Beethovenian pinnacle in his oeuvre. The composer, who only got as far as writing the piano accompaniment (the orchestration of the accompaniment for orchestra would have come later), left to posterity a masterfully constructed, euphoric work in which Mirjam sings a hymn of thanksgiving about the Jewish people's escape from Egypt.
