- 20 Sep 2010 1:00 AM
Since its founding in 2005, the American Corner has hosted hundreds of programs and thousands of visitors and been a beacon in Western Hungary for the advancement of Hungarian-U.S. ties. In addition to its cultural programs and library, the American Corner also provides educational advising for young Hungarians interested in studying in the U.S.
In his remarks, Edward Loo thanked the Veszprém officials for their support, including the support of the host institution, the Veszprém County Library and its director, Judit Pálmann; and praised American Corner Director Judit Bertalan for her outstanding work. Invited guests at the ceremony enjoyed a photo exhibit covering the American Corner's first five years, and musical and theatrical performances showcasing American art.
