Budapest Ferihegy Ends Deal With Zóna Taxi

A disagreement over tariffs led to the cancellation of the contract. Zóna held back several tens of millions of forints, claiming that it should have the exclusive rights to access Ferihegy terminals, Népszabadság writes.
BA has invited four companies for the tender, but Zóna is not among them.
The consortium of Zóna won a four-year tender in 2006, with the option of another year, which the taxi operator accepted. That contract ran out in May.
Népszabadság says the consortium run by István Veres has 60 more days to operate at Ferihegy, after which the new operator will take charge.
After reviewing the market, BA decided to invite several Budapest taxi companies to participate in a tender. The most important considerations are passenger safety and comfort, the Ferihegy airport operator said in a statement."
