Hungary's Ombudsman On Immigrant Conditions
Fundamental rights ombudsman Máté Szabó has appealed to the prosecutor general, the interior minister and the national police chief to intervene because of what he experienced at the Nyírbátor shelter, where foreigners unlawfully in Hungary are guarded.

The situation at the shelter is worse than in prisons, he said. The buildings are in disrepair, people are wounded, and their human dignity is continuously hurt. Most personnel do not speak any foreign language, so those in detention communicate mostly with gestures.
