Former Hungarian Central Bank Governor Simor Gets Senior EBRD Position

Former National Bank governor András Simor will be appointed vice-president at the EBRD from July 1, the regional development bank announced on Wednesday. He will co-ordinate strategies to aid economic transformation and economic policy.
Simor will also be responsible for mobilising and handling of donors’ funds, and will be a member of the EBRD board of directors.
He was chosen for the position in a competitive selection process that attracted international interest, the EBRD said.
Declaring himself “delighted” to have been chosen Simor said “it is a privilege to help strengthen the bank’s work and position”.
