Hungary's Town Pécs To Renew Local Zoo

The Pécs zoo will be closed to the public for a year, as reconstruction work will start within days, deputy mayor Csaba Nagy announced. The Ft 1.2 billion project to create an ecological entertainment park and expand the zoo from 3.5 hectares to 4 hectares is fully financed by EU subsidies.
A new reception building will be erected to host a new aquarium, a terrarium and an events hall.
The zoo, first opened in 1961, features about 200 species of animal.
