Restaurant Review: Noir Et L’or In Budapest
Located right next to Gozsdu Court on Kiraly street, Noir et L’or has all the right ingredients required of a fine restaurant. Its interior is designed using light colors such as gold and white, intermingled with an occasional dash of black. This simple interior colour scheme creates a relaxing atmosphere where diners can enjoy delicious meals with a distinct Mediterranean influence. Some traditional Hungarian dishes are also available.

There are a number of amazing dishes to choose from. Its specially chosen starters include the classical Caesar salad with parmesan and chicken, grilled to taste. The Mediterranean influence ensures that salad, olives, tomatoes and olive oil make an regular appearance to create a refreshingly light starter.

Although variety of soups on offer is limited; the famous cream of onion soup and traditional Hungarian goulash – both served in rye bread loaves - and corn cream soup with chili prawns as well as Jokai bean soup with noodles - served in a pot at the table – these culinary offerings easily make up for it!

But it is the main courses that make this restaurant so special. Each dish is prepared and cooked with dedication, care and elegance, resulting in an amazing taste experience in the heart of Budapest. There is wide range of choice. Classic Wiener Schnitzel served with parsley potatoes and coleslaw salad; leg of lamb steak with roasted tomatoes bean and rosemary potatoes served from the pan; chicken breast with oyster mushrooms and cherry tomatoes.

The seemingly endless menu offers amazing Mediterranean style meals using pork, chicken and steak. Even the Hungarian dishes on offer are just as delicious. Paprika chicken with cottage cheese noodles; beef medallions with Lecso and chipped potato rings. (Lecso is a Hungarian vegetable ragout or a stew made with green or red peppers, tomato and onions). These two dishes I personally recommend to diners inquisitive about Hungarian cuisine!

Every amazing meal needs a drink by its side and at the Noir et L’or does not disappoint. A long list of red, white and dessert wines are there to be selected; so too liquors and champagnes for those special celebrations.

It is also a perfect place for those just needing to have a drink or two with friends or partners, The bar inside is well matched with the relaxing, light coloured interior.

Noir et L’or is an amazing experience and is a ‘must visit’ if you prefer fine dining with family members or friends.
