Marx Statue To Be Removed From Budapest’s Corvinus University
A statue of Karl Marx will disappear from the entrance hall of Budapest’s Corvinus University formerly the Karl Marx University of Economics, rector Zsolt Rostoványi has announced. The statue will be transferred to a display on the history of the university.

Rostoványi told website eduline.hu that although the university was named after the economist, the institution was renamed a long time ago, therefore Marx is a thing of the past not of the present.

The university has already invited designs for a new symbol that will make it clear to visitors that they are at the Corvinus University.
