The government expects authentic information and evidence, she said.
The spokeswoman noted that public prosecutor Péter Polt had turned to his US partner with a similar request. The economy ministry said in a statement that it continued to expect the American side to provide “concrete information” regarding the entry ban.
The minister, Mihály Varga, received a briefing from the tax office chief before her Wednesday statement, it added. Given that it is still not known specifically why US decision makers have placed the restriction on Vida, the ministry continues to expect it to hand over substantive information, on the basis of which it would be able to launch an investigation.
Cabinet state secretary László L Simon called on Vida to name the government official she informed about being blacklisted by the US immigration authorities.
Simon welcomed Vida’s admission that she was on the blacklist but said he was unable to tell what information Vida had shared about this with the government. He added that Vida had not informed him about the case.
