Only 11% of Hungarians are not planning to go on vacation at all this summer, CIB Bank said, based on its representative survey. More than half of Hungarians want to go on a vacation that lasts at least 5 days, the survey showed. Around 35% are planning to go on one big vacation, and 17% are planning two or more bigger trips.
A quarter of survey participants said they would only take time off from work for short amounts of time, but would do this three of four times during the summer.
For shorter trips most Hungarians will stay in the country, with 68% wanting to visit Lake Balaton.
Half of those who go on longer vacations want to travel abroad. Croatia is the most popular target, followed by Greece, Austria and Italy.
