Construction Of Fence On Hungarian Border Starts Today
Construction of a 175km fence begins at 12 locations on the Serbian border at 6 a.m. Monday, following preparatory work last week, local news website delmagyar.hu reported on Sunday. Soldiers will take part in the construction along with 318 registered jobless who will be employed as public works staff in two shifts.

A government decree published in Magyar Közlöny on Friday states that a Ft 300,000 fine will be imposed on those who impede construction of the fence. Unauthorised persons entering the construction area could be fined Ft 50,000.

The fence is to be completed by August 31. The cabinet has laid aside Ft 29 billion for the project.
