The stairway formerly dominating the whole square is now by far narrower and shorter. He added that thanks to the new pavement the square is brighter, its mechanical infrastructure has also been renewed, including the fountain and the so-called “Mushroom”, a popular meeting point of Budapest citizens.
The total cost of the investment, which took five months, reached HUF 509 million. The Municipality of Budapest supported the project with a sum of HUF 295 million.
