Vocational Training Scheme For Hungarians Beyond Borders ‘Successful’
The government-supported vocational training scheme for ethnic Hungarians in neighbouring countries has proved successful this year, the state secretary for Hungarian communities beyond the borders said. The budget available for the programme this year was 500 million forints (EUR 1.7m), and increased significantly from last year, János Árpád Potápi told a conference.

The vocational training programme covered around 30,000 Hungarian students beyond the borders, he said. It was put together on the basis of a concept worked out by professional organisations of Hungarian teachers.

The largest amount—126 million forints—was provided for Transylvania.

Fully 70 million was allocated to southern Slovakia, 60 million to northern Serbia’s Vojvodina, 50 million to Transcarpathia, 20 million to Croatia and 17.5 million in the Mura region, in north-eastern Slovenia, he said.
