Tax On Online Ads May Come Next Year
The 2017 tax bill submitted to Parliament yesterday contains the so-called Google tax, as the bill requires advertising platform operators to register and report advertisements in order to pay tax on them. Online advertisers must also report to the tax authority.

Operators that fail to register after a warning from authorities will be subject to a fine of Ft 500,000. In case of repeated fail-ures the fine increases to Ft 10 million, then to Ft 30 million and to Ft 90 million, rising to a maximum of Ft 1 billion.

Individuals who provide advertisement platforms will not have to pay the tax.
