According to the report, Hungary has improved its digital skills from 2016, it has done well in the area of connectivity due to the spread of broad band internet (NGA) and 4G, but it still lags behind the EU average.
The report said that the number of internet users has increased significantly, but their digital skills are still below the European average. Users, however, more actively use community sites, read more electronic news and video chats than the average European, but do less business or banking over the net, it said.
More businesses use digital technologies than in 2016, which has brought Hungary from 27th to 24th place, but there are still opportunities to be discovered, the report suggested. As for public e-services, minor developments have been made, but Hungary is 27th in the EU in this respect, the report added.
