Transport Museum To Leave Budapest City Park
The government is searching for a new location for the transport Museum. It will not return to the building in the City park, which has been demolished and will be reconstructed, head of the City Park renovation project company Liget Budapest László Baán announced on Wednesday

The former museum had 4,500m2 of space for exhibitions that could have been expanded to 9,000m2 with the planned underground rooms, but this will not be built, he added.

Even the expanded area would not have been enough large to host the entire collection of the transport museum, thus the government will find a new location within the coming months, Baán said. Possibly the new museum will be somewhere in the former industrial area abandoned by the state railway MÁV, he suggested.
