Rubik’s Cube Maker Sues US Rival
- 1 Sep 2017 8:58 AM
More than 100 million Rubik cubes have been sold since Hungarian architecture professor Ernõ Rubik invented it in 1974.
Rubik’s Brand filed a trademark infringement suit against Duncan, arguing that the 3x3 cube sold by the US company mimics the features and appearance of the famous toy.
Duncan said the allegations are unfounded and it will defend itself. Toys “R” Us did not respond.
The retailer offers the original product for $15.99 and Duncan’s cube for $4.99.
