Hungarian Swimmer Hosszú Voted European Female Athlete Of The Year
Hungarian swimmer Katinka Hosszú has been voted female athlete of the year for 2019 in a poll of European sports journalists.

Hosszú won gold medals in the 200- and 400-metre medley races at the world championships in South Korea last year.

With her victory in the 400-metre contest, Hosszú became the first woman to win the same event five times.

She is also the first in the history of swimming to win the 200- and 400-metre medley events four times at world championships.

Hosszú was also voted European female athlete of the year in 2016 and 2017.
