Budapest turns into a hub for popular sports when the first March sunshine lights up the Danube. On March 21 and 22, the 41st Telekom Vivicittá welcomes runners to the biggest running festival of spring, blending sightseeing, high-tech features, and charity efforts in a record-breaking event.
This year's Telekom Vivicitta, Wizz Air Budapest Half Marathon and SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival attracted over 50,000 foreign visitors to the capital, a new record, the Budapest Sport Office (BSI) said on Wednesday.
For decades, the SPAR Budapest Marathon Festival has held its place as Hungary’s largest and most popular mass sports event. It’s more than just a race; it's a two-day celebration of running that brings together people of all fitness levels.
The Generali Night Run returns for its 11th edition on Saturday, 30 August. This annual running event invites locals and expats alike to race through the stunningly illuminated streets of the capital. Participants can choose from four different running distances, and there’s even a cycling option for those who prefer two wheels over two feet. On Sunday, 31 August, a half marathon can be completed individually or in a relay team.
