Hungary infringed EU law and the principle of loyal cooperation when it voted against the bloc's common position on the reclassification of cannabis at the UN Commission on Narcotic Drugs, the European Court of Human Rights said.
In the wake of a recent Constitutional Court ruling, the city of Budapest will "continue to fight for justice" in a suit concerning the city's solidarity tax, Mayor Gergely Karácsony said on Facebook.
"If Fidesz does not stop cheating, it may win the election, but if they win because of this, we will not recognise it, we will shut down the country peacefully but very decisively," independent lawmaker Ákos Hadházy said.
The Budapest Metropolitan Court held a preliminary hearing on Wednesday in a criminal case in which the prosecution accuses an Irish man of homicide, and after the defendant did not admit to committing the crime during the hearing, the court referred the case to trial, the court said on Wednesday.
