Coronavirus: Hungarian Retailers Say No Need To Panic Buy Food
There is no need for consumers to stockpile food due to fears of a coronavirus epidemic, as there will be no shortage of food in shops, the retail association OKSZ announced on Thursday.

Demand for non-perishable food products has significantly risen over the last days, and there have been anecdotal reports of empty shelves in shops.

OKSZ members are able to maintain a secure supply, the announcement added.

OKSZ president György Vámos acknowledged, however, that there might be occasions where shops will run out of stocks, but he emphasised that the supply is guaranteed.
