’Bach For Everyone Festival’ Held In Hungary, 18 – 24 March
Having been born in the US, the Bach for Everyone Festival has now grown into an international movement on a global scale.

Around the birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach – 21 March – and in the most diverse range of venues imaginable in major cities and provincial towns in countries all over the world, the work of the greatest composer of all time can be enjoyed at free concerts, bringing this priceless music to the widest audience in the broadest sense of the word.

Müpa Budapest joined the festival in 2019, which takes place in 2020 over three days spanning 20 events in several locations throughout the building.

The audience will be able to visit exhibitions, watch presentations about the scholarly composer, and hear cantatas, chorales, motets, chamber performances, piano music and concertos, as well as Bach pieces arranged for wind orchestra, cimbalom and guitar. Even jazz virtuosos will improvise Bach themes.

The musicians – many of them young talents – represent a broad spectrum of Hungarian performance art, from members of the Hungarian National Philharmonic to Capella Silentium and the likes of Béla Szakcsi-Lakatos.
