Bikes Ride For Free On Budapest Public Transport On Weekends
Weekend cyclists will be able to use many trams, buses and suburban trains around Budapest until October without needing an extra pass or ticket.

All they need is a standard ticket or pass - for the rest of the week, an extra ticket or special monthly bicycle pass is required.

A pictogram will indicate which carriage is suitable.

It is recommended to use the bicycle transport in case of bad weather, punctures, steeper ascents or even bicycle trips around Budapest.

Bikes can be taken on the following trams:

On Pestside numbers 1, 12, 14 and 28, and in Buda, 17, 41, 56, 56A, 59, 59A, 59B and 61.

Useful info:

* The size of the bicycle to be transported must not exceed 180 x 130 x 70 centimeters.

* Vehicles / wagons marked with a pictogram are suitable for transport.

* On weekdays, bicycle transport is still subject to a charge: the bicycle can be transported by validating a line or group ticket or by renting a bicycle, and passenger transport must also be paid for.

* If you regularly use the public transport bicycle transport service, it is worth exchanging a bicycle pass for HUF 540 per month.
