Internet Use by Seniors in Hungary Below EU Average

In 2020, about 53% of people aged 65-74 in Hungary reported that they had used the internet in the last 3 months, according to a survey by statistical agency Eurostat.
The EU average rate stood at 61%.
The highest share (94%) of people aged 65-74 who used the internet in the last 3 months was registered by Denmark, followed by Luxembourg and Sweden (both 91%), the Netherlands (90%) as well as Finland (88%).
At the other end of the spectrum, only 25% of people aged 65-74 in Bulgaria reported using the internet in the last 3 months, followed by those in Croatia (28%) and Greece (33%).
Among all individuals aged 16-74%, the EU average rate reached 88%, slightly above the Hungarian rate of 85%.
