Hungarian Vaccine Scientist Katalin Karikó One of Time Magazine’s Heroes of 2021
Hungary’s Katalin Karikó is one of four vaccine scientists to be named the Heroes of the Year by US weekly Time magazine.

Time writes that Kizzmekia Corbett, Barney Graham, Drew Weissman and Karikó “achieved a breakthrough of singular importance, introducing an innovative and highly effective vaccine platform, based on mRNA, that will impact our health and well-being far beyond this pandemic.”

An accompanying article relates the discovery of vaccines based on mRNA technology and appreciates the work of scientists who joined the fight against the coronavirus.
