Riverside Road In Budapest Open to Pedestrians

Reconstruction works on the stretch of the József Antall Sr. lower riverside road between Parliament and Margit Bridge ended two weeks ahead of schedule, the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) announced on Friday.
A promenade for pedestrians and a lane of trees were developed on the stretch between the car lanes and the Danube.
The road will be opened to pedestrians and cyclists from today.
It is not open to motorised traffic, as the road remains a dead end in the direction of the Chain Bridge, pending further renovations.
Plans call for the road to be opened to cars next summer.
