Judges held a demonstration in Budapest on Saturday for the freedom of the judiciary, organised by the Hungarian Judiciary Association (MABIE).
The secret services presented information at Tuesday's meeting of parliament's national security committee showing that the Ukrainian state was launching a smear campaign against Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, Mate Kocsis, the head of ruling Fidesz's parliamentary group who is a member of the committee, said.
By the 15th year of Viktor Orbán’s rule, his son-in-law had become one of the richest men in Hungary. István Tiborcz had built an empire of luxury properties, financial and logistics companies.
Transparency International Hungary said on Tuesday that Hungary has retained its ranking as the European Union’s most corrupt country for the third year in a row, referring to the 2024 edition of TI's Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI).
