Parents Asked to Help Pay for Heating at School in 3rd District
Citing higher energy costs, the headmaster of a secondary school in Budapest’s Third District has asked parents of the school’s pupils for a financial contribution.

Zsolt Berczelédi, head of the Sándor Csoma Kőrösi Baptist High School, confirmed that he had sent a questionnaire to parents to assess their willingness to make an elective contribution to the electricity and heating bills in the upcoming school year.

Via a letter, the Head asks the parents for a one-time payment of Ft 101,302.

The school would like to avoid having to switch to digital education.

“Mentally, isolation is particularly bad for children, and the effectiveness of online education is far below that of classroom education”, Berczelédi argued.
