This Year, the Festive Season is Turned Into A Month-Long Festival at Matild Palace Budapest
Special festive menus, takeaway Christmas offers and unforgettable New Year's Eve parties at Budapest's most exclusive luxury hotel.

Matild Palace, the old-new centre of downtown social life, is preparing for the end of the year with exciting gastronomic offers and fabulous programmes for those who want to make this year's holiday celebrations a little more magical, a little more glamorous.

The UNESCO World Heritage-listed neo-Baroque palace has proven time and time again that if you're looking for an impeccable gastronomic experience in the city, or a glittering and magical nightly revue show that will appeal to all your senses, then this luxury hotel is the place to be.

This December will be no exception, as the hotel prepares for an extravagant festive celebration from top to bottom, from The Duchess rooftop bar to the newly opened Matild Café & Cabaret.

Christmas offers

At the most wonderful time of the year, when it's time to share a meal with family and friends, Matild Palace offers a range of gastronomic experiences. Hidden within the walls of the hotel, but with all the more special significance, Spago by Wolfgang Puck Budapest is preparing an unrivalled 3-course festive menu for its guests until 23 December.

The year-end offer featuring cured salmon trout, crispy duck leg and "máglyarakás" will run until Christmas Day, when guests will be treated to an exquisite menu specially created for 24 December, with a choice of iconic dishes including pan seared venison filet, festive log or the "traditional" fish soup of rainbow trout filet with homemade spätzle and dill.

Turkey to Go – the take-away version of a festive Spago menu

For those who prefer to enjoy the true Spago quality in the comfort of their own home, the restaurant is offering a takeaway festive menu for 4-6 people from 15-27 December, with traditional slow roasted norfolk bronze turkey with braised red cabbage with apple and mulled wine, cranberry sauce and creamy ratte potato purée.

Programmes for New Year’s Eve

You won't have to miss István Szántó and his team's brilliant dishes on New Year's Eve either, as Spago will be open again on 31 December with a four-course festive gourmet dinner and excellent drinks to celebrate the last moments of the Old Year and the first moments of the New Year.

For an unforgettable New Year's Eve party on the last night of the year, head to Matild Café & Cabaret, newly opened in mid-October, or to The Duchess rooftop bar, close to the clouds with a magical view of all the city's fireworks.

The Matild Cabaret's New Year's Eve programme stars Károly Nyári, Aliz Nyári and Edit Nyári. They will amaze the guests with impressive performances of acrobats, dancers and live music. The show will be followed by a party until dawn.

And for those who want to enjoy the tranquillity of Sundays at the end of December, the newly introduced Festive Brunch at Matild Café & Cabaret will be held on 25 December and 1 January!
